Elemax is the total brand name of generator of Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd, founded by Mr.Chuzo Sawafuji in 1908 at Japan. In 1919, the company was incorporated. 

In 1936, the organization started production and sales of electric equipment for vehicles such as starters and generators as well as magnetos. In 1957, it started production and sales of SWING MOTOR. In 1962 manufacturing and sales of electric refrigerators,"ENGEL",equipped with the SWING MOTOR was commenced. In 1965 it Started production of generators for engine-generator sets. In 1979 it Started production and sales of electric refrigerators for buses and  also in 1987 it Started production and sales of electric refrigerators for passenger cars.

Sawafuji Electric Co., Ltd, manufactures three categorized main products such as: Automotive electrical devices for big commercial vehicle (trucks and buses), Engine generators (up to 25kva) , alternators, control devices for generators as brand name "Elemax" and Mobile AC/DC refrigerator.
