Watch size Details

This means notice the numbers, the hours, and second hands.The lug size, the pusher, and changer. As these components grow in size and thickness it gives the illusion of a larger watch. This can cause watches on men with smaller wrists to appear to be out of proportion.

If you have a 38mm to 40mm watch and the numbers are huge, it will look unbalanced.

On the flip side if you have a 9mm thick watch with a 46mm case diameter and thin hour hands something might seem off as well.

A metal watch band always appear larger & heavier because of the nature of metal, this is an important consideration if you have smaller wrists. You may want to check out for a smaller metal watch .

How to Clean a metal Watch

step 1 

Rub the surface of the watch with a soft cloth to remove dirt. Often, grime will collect in crevices in the band and around the watch face. If this is the case, use the dry toothbrush to reach into the spaces and dislodge dirt.

Apply glass cleaner to a cloth and thoroughly rub all sides of the watch face. Or, for a more natural approach, use plain white household vinegar. Dip the brush into the glass cleaner and scrub the band on the top and bottom. Wipe clean with the cloth. If the watch band is removable, pour glass cleaner into a cup. Remove the watch band from the face, and place it in the cleaner. Let soak for fifteen minutes. Remove the watch band and scrub with brush.

Rinse the watch band with water, being careful not to let it touch the watch face if the band is still attached and the watch is not water resistant. Apply a small amount of water to the cloth, wring it out and wipe the face clean.

If Steps 1 through 3 are not sufficient, apply a small amount of baking soda to a wet, clean cloth and rub directly onto the band, avoiding the watch face. Rinse the watch band thoroughly, and wipe it dry with a cloth.

SOLID METAL CONSTRUCTION

To some people, it might be obvious to get a watch out of solid metal, but you’d be surprised at how some cheaper watches cut costs. Steel watches should be made from grade 316L stainless steel almost all the time. Plus, the watch case and bracelet links should be solid pieces of metal, rather than folded metal or anything hollow. It is easy to tell if a bracelet is solid by inspecting the side of it and noticing if looks like one solid piece.
